The HCTR fuse is specifically designed for control circuit transformer protection, offering current-limitation to shield downstream components from the thermal and magnetic effects of short-circuit currents. It includes a rejection feature that ensures compliance with UL 508, paragraph 19.2.4, which requires control circuit fuses to have an adequate interrupting rating and be rejection type when used in equipment with over 10,000A available fault current. With a high inrush time-delay, the HCTR fuse accommodates control circuit transformers that experience inrush currents up to 85 times their full-load rating, exceeding the UL minimum time-delay of 12 seconds at 200% for Class CC fuses. Built with a melamine tube and nickel-plated brass end caps, the HCTR fuse is designed for durability and reliable operation in demanding applications.
